If you’re visiting a suburb area in Abuja known as
Mpape for the first time, do well to remember never to visit this local brothel
alone especially at night called Equity Guest Inn, located in the area to avoid
stories that touch.
Mr.
Victor Olayinka, who lives in the next compound with some of the girls in the Mpape.
He narrated: “These girls have lost every sense of womanhood. At times, I
wonder if it was really a woman that gave birth to them.
“There is no kind of evil that they do not involve
in. They smoke and steal at smallest opportunity, they even kill. There was a
day we nearly ran away police invaded the area when they discovered a body of a
man on the street, it was later that we were made to understood that they maimed
and killed him because they discovered that he had cash and good phones, then
wanted to rob him and it went wrong, so they ended up killing him.”
Another neighbour Umaru Salisu living close to the
area also attested to this: “There is no day you will not hear one drama or
another, a boy was stabbed to death here by one of the girls’ cult boyfriend, it
was that day that we thought that this brothel would be shut down, but I don’t know
what kind of connection the owner of the place has, the brothel kept running. You
will not be safe if you are new in that area or you are not one of those bad
boys, else you will not come out the same way you went into their den.”
He also that the rate at which they
fight and quarrel is disturbing: “There is no day that passes without them
fighting over customers; there was one day one of their girls stabbed a lady with
a broken bottle, she was walking with her man in front of the brothel and the ashawo
girl started making advances at him, the man’s wife became angry and started
insulting the girl, before we could say Jack, she picked a bottle, broke it and
stabbed the lady, she was rushed to the hospital and the girl was nowhere to be
found”.
Mpape people, that place as a whole should be removed out of Abuja map.
